All through the 2017-18 season Chris Romero and Devin Hart battled as friendly rivals for the gold. In the NJ State Meet of Champions, Hart bested Romero by a few seconds.
In the indoor season, the two put on a show for the ages as each won a gold against the other. See the exciting race finishes.
In two races, just a 1/2 second total difference.

In April Chris Romero suffered an injury thus putting an untimely end to his outdoor s018 season. Devin Hart continued to capture accolades. One great achievement is his gold medal win in the 3000 at the Penn Relays.

Devin Hart attempted the impossible and did it! He ran one race on a Friday afternoon in Seattle and another on a Saturday afternoon in NJ. He finished 3rd in the elite national competition and won his second straight NJ Meet of Champions gold medal in the 3200.
In appraising this achievement, Dr. Laccetti characterized it as a Napoleonic feat.

Foundation 2017 sportsmanship award recipient Devin Hart, Pt. Pleasant Boro HS, wins most thrilling race ever at Meet of Champions. Devin bested a game Jack Stanley by just 1/10th of a second. It took ten heart stopping minutes to decide the winner!
With this hard-fought win, Devin ranks among the best-ever Cross Country runners in the state of NJ.It is his second consecutive Cross-Country MOC championship.
Hearty congratulations to Devin and to Jack for making this special moment in NJ track history.

After a heartbreaking loss by 2/10ths of a second in the NJ Meet of Champions Indoor Distance Race in February, 2019,Devin hart came back in March, 2019 to win the New Balance National Indoor 2 mile run at the New York City Armory.Running against the best in the nation Hart changed tactics and ran a strategically flawless race, beating old nemesis Liam Murphy, NJ, and besting Ryan Oosting, who, like Hart is bound for Stanford this fall.
